Overview

AMBERSIL DRY MOLY is a resin bonded - high pressure resistant dry film lubricant containing Molybdenum Disulphide for metal-to-metal lubrication where a wet film cannot be tolerated. Once applied - the MoS2 lubricant prevents:

  • Seizing
  • Fretting
  • Scuffing and Reduces friction

The thin film also helps prevent corrosion and repels water.

APPLICATIONS

Use for the assembly and running in of components to reduce fretting and scuffing where a wet film cannot be used. Apply to threaded and close tolerance components to prevent seizing and aide assembly and disassembly. Particularly effective where high load bearing surface to surface contact is present.

  • Mounting of longitudinal press fits (e.g. bolts and bearing seats)
  • Assembly of screws and seals
  • Surface treatment of rolling and sliding bearings to improve running-in
  • Lubrication of guides and joints
  • Bearing lubrication for wheel bearings and kiln carts
  • Lubrication of open gears
  • For use where a wet-film lubricant is undesirable
